SCHOOL OF MUSIC--- PERSONAL BRANDING AS AN ARTISTE
SCHOOL OF MUSIC: PERSONAL BRANDING AS AN ARTISTE.
I know this might take awhile for some of you to understand sha, but it's fine. I will keep at it until just one person gets it. I wanted to do a live video today but somehow I got busy..
I will need you to read the gist in the pictures attached to this post and understand a few things about personal branding as an artiste and how serious this matter is. Maybe not now but in future it will be more serious.
In my first live video I did on Sunday after Experience, I mentioned this issue of artiste going to perform other people's songs and getting paid for it. Some people think I was taking this matter too far but truly it is a very serious matter.
Yesterday I wrote a lot about Influence and how your songs can create Influence for you. In business that's actually personal branding. Your songs are your brand, your trade mark. As an artiste, you don't really have an "identity" musically without a song. Every Brand in the world has a trade mark. Every artiste, known artiste in the world is known by a song.
If I mentioned, Sammy Okposo, you will say "wellu wellu", if I mentioned D' banj, you say Koko master, if I mentioned, Asu Ekiye, you say Hossana" if I mentioned your name as an artiste what song should we brand or identify you with? Think about this? I know you would probably put the name of your favorite song but it matters nothing to the world until that song command attention in the world.
Everytime you are invited to minister as an artiste and you go to sing a known artiste's song, you are abusing your brand and also stealing a false identify.. you are stealing someone's intellectual property unless of course you get permission from the artiste. Even if you get permission to perform their song, you are only promoting their brand.
You must as an artiste find your identity and become a personal brand. This is only going to happen through your song. Create that hit, make it go viral. Shun religious hypocrisy and get Influence. This kingdom business needs Influence.
Some of you actually sing better than the popular guys but even in your church you are not valued. They will invite the popular artistes and pay them huge, but you they will just manage to sort you a lil cash and you are angry about it. You complain on social media how badly churches treat up coming artistes. Some of you don't even like to be called upcoming artistes.. lol. Calm down joor.. The solution to all those complain is to become a brand, blow and get Influence. That your church will value you. Until you blow you are an upcoming artiste ooo.
In the pictures below. Uncle Asu Ekiye was angry for someone who performed his song at the Experience 2019. The Revolution has started ooo.
