SCHOOL OF MUSIC --- MINISTRY THRIVES ON INFLUENCE

I was anchoring a gospel music concert recently in Lagos and I noticed three of the guest artistes sang the same song. It is one of the popular gospel songs. I don't want to mention the song and the artiste here but seriously I can't really explain how I felt that evening.

Most of our young gospel artistes are not learning. There's so much to learn from the secular artiste but religion has blinded the minds of most young gospel artistes. This secular guys understood some deep secrets about music success and influence. You kept shouting ministry, ministry. Can I just tell you something serious? Ministry needs influence for greater impact.. yes you read that right. Study the life of Bishop Oyedepo, you will understand how he got where he is today. He had a mindset about ministry that propel him to build value.

We can't keep doing this. If you are an artiste, you should be hungry to produce a song that the world can worship with. If the world can worship with, then it has to be popular.. I was watching Sinach ministering at Lakewood Church in the US and the audience singing along effortlessly. Later the anchor announced that they won't let her go until she sang WAY MAKER..

You are praying for a big stage as an artiste, build influence. Give value in the form of music, a hit song.

You don't need prayers for this. You have prayed enough..

You don't need grace for this. You have enough grace at work in you.

You need knowledge. What you don't know enslave you. Knowledge make you free and shine as light.

Truth is that they are actually active in music but you don't get to hear them because they have no more hits. Yes many of them are releasing and promoting their songs ooooo but for where?
