SCHOOL OF MUSIC:: NOBODY DOES MUSIC FOR MONEY

This post is going to be the part one of my "Music Business" post. Since it's an introduction to the main post, I will try as much as possible to be straight to the point.

Don't be too surprised with the title of this post. I know you believe that there are people who are doing music for money and so Everytime you say "I am not doing music for money", it makes you feel good about yourself and you felt like you are really doing ministry.. lol. Let me tell you something serious. Religion and Ignorance are twins... Religion thrives in ignorance especially deep level of ignorance.

Over the years, I have had close relationship with a lot of artistes and I have watched many of them struggle terribly, beg for rehearsal sessions, recording sessions and even for promotion. When you try to help them come out of this darkness, they are quick to tell you that they don't do music for money. Really? Who do you know that does music for money?

You see that Statement is a statement of ignorance. You are not supposed to do music or anything for money else that is the beginning of your failure. Money runs away from those who are pursuing it. All the successful artistes in the world don't do music for money but they are making all the money. The question is HOW did they do it?

Shouting "I don't do music for money" will keep you down struggling for long. Oh you think those making money from music are doing it for money? You think EBEN, SINACH, FRANK EDWARDS, Dr TIM GODFREY etc are doing music for money that's why they are making so such money? They simply understood the BUSINESS OF MUSIC. The difference between an Influential artistes and the uninfluential ones is the same difference between the Influential lawyers, doctors, pastors and the uninfluential ones. The difference is that the Influential ones understand the business of their craft or profession.

Now the gross misunderstanding with this is that many people think business is about money and so once business is mentioned, the first thing that comes to their mind is money.

Until you understand the business of your craft or profession, you will never be successful, Influential or make money. You can be so annointed and be broke and obscure thinking the holy Spirit is taking you through wilderness. Lol you are just in the wilderness of ignorance oooo and the holy spirit is not there with you.

My people perish for the lack of knowledge. He said because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you.

Stop this religious hypocrisy fueled by gross ignorance and stop struggling for nothing.

Building structures for your music career does not mean you are doing music for money.

You know you are not doing music for money yet you are selling your songs and your album ooo. You are not doing music for money but when you are invited for ministration, you expect brown envelope and if you get a thank you God bless you, your spirit will be angry.

You see if nobody judges you for selling your album, why do you judge yourself for setting a better structure that will bring in money to run your ministry. Oh you want to remind me that if God gave you a vision, he will make the provision right? Lol.. are you this naive? Your pastor wants to build new church building, he doesn't wait for provision from God but asked church members and well wishers to sow seed towards the project. Oh the building is not God's vision? Lol.

Set yourself free today. There's no such thing as doing music for money or not doing music for money. You are in this to fulfil purpose and touch lives and you need money to be able to do this and if you don't set the structures that will generate this money, you may never fulfil that purpose of touching lives with your songs.

SCHOOL OF MUSIC ::: THE STRUGGLE FOR RELEVANCE AFTER BLOWING Recently I have been thinking a lot about some artistes who dropped Hits back then and went extinct. Truth is that they are actually active in music but you don't get to hear them because they have no more hits. Yes many of them are releasing and promoting their songs ooooo but for where?
