SCHOOL OF MUSIC:: BECOME INTENTIONAL.

The lectures I am dropping this season are premium really and I am doing this as a Christmas gift..

As an artiste, until you become Intentional, a lot of things won't change in your career. Every single big artiste that has stayed consistently on top is Intentional. No genuine progress or growth can be made until you become Intentional. A person who's Intentional has a definite reason or purpose to every action or decision they make. I wish you can get this. When you become Intentional, you are not under pressure to release song on your birthday. You are not under pressure to drop an album. Every action you take is deliberate. The choice of song to record is deliberate, the song to release and when to release is deliberate.

You don't just do what you like or what the trend is. Being Intentional will help you see a result you want to achieve with the songs and how to get that result. Today I see artiste record song and release it without a plan or structure, some just shoot video and dump it on YouTube and in your heart you really want to blow? Oh I forgot that some of you want to blow by grace.. lol.. if you are still thinking like that, you are truly your own problem. Even churches plan, set goals, build structure to get the kind results you see in those big ministries.

Become Intentional about creating Influence. Become Intentional about creating hit songs. Get knowledge on HOW. Learn what to do to make this happen and do it. Intentionality works better with Knowledge. Some of you just write a song, wake up in studio, record and release. Some of you manage to write five songs and next thing you are doing album launch.. Lol.. You can not build Influence like this. Influence is Intentional. Let me tell you about Wizkid.

When Banky W signed Wizkid to EME records. They were very very Intentional about blowing Wizkid. Ok you should know that Wizkid and Skales where both signed at the same time to EME records.

Wizkid of course had great songs. Almost all the songs in his Superstar first album were super hit. They could have just released any of the songs as his first single but No. They chose to release "Halla Your Boy". Halla Your boy was a cover of somebody's song.. Wizkid has songs like "Tease Me", Kpakromo" and other beautiful songs but no they chose to drop Halla ya boy. You think it's a mistake? Nah. It was Intentional.

Even his music video for Halla Ya Boy was also very Intentional. They branded Wizkid for youths. In the video you would notice that it was shot in a school, with young people and you see Wizkid riding bicycle in it. Everything was Intentional to create the pictorial image they want to brand Wizkid. They wanted him to connect with a certain audience, youths.

Well it worked perfectly well. Wizkid became an instant hit.

Today I see gospel artiste just shoot videos without a purpose, no design or connection intended. Some of you don't even know the purpose for a music video. Kai!

Become Intentional in 2020. Very important.

You see even Wizkid was very Intentional about blowing. You could see that in the kind of songs he put out in that first album.

Both Skales and Wizkid were signed to the same record label at the same time, given the same opportunity and platforms but Wizkid blow and Skales could not. It is because Skales was not intentional at all. I know his problem. Burna Boy almost fell into same trap that skales fell in but Burna Boy learnt fast. Even till today Skales has not learnt his lessons yet. Any artiste who's not intentional, will be doing so much with little or no results to show for it. The reason you have not blown yet is mostly because of ignorance. Some of you think you are just paying your dues but. Nah. It's ignorance that's stopping you. Get knowledge fast. Become Intentional and see your career blossom.

SCHOOL OF MUSIC ::: THE STRUGGLE FOR RELEVANCE AFTER BLOWING Recently I have been thinking a lot about some artistes who dropped Hits back then and went extinct. Truth is that they are actually active in music but you don't get to hear them because they have no more hits. Yes many of them are releasing and promoting their songs ooooo but for where? You don't get to hear them because the songs are not blowing again. To figure out how to address the matter, we have to first know what their problem really is. The real problem is that these guys blow by accident. Accident is never an organized structure to replicate. If you blow by accident and be thinking it is grace, you will struggle for years to make another hit until you go extinct.
