A few years ago, I had a guest on my radio show who just released a song and needed Promotion. During the interview she spoke passionately about her vision for Nigeria and how God had sent her to preach peace through music to Nigeria and bring restoration to Nigeria. Wow! Was I impressed? Oh yes, you guessed right.

However after I played the song she did for Nigeria on my show that day,  I was totally disappointed and I told her that with this her song like this, Nigeria will never know peace let alone restoration. The song totally lacks ENERGY. NO LIFE IN IT. if you want to bring peace and restore Nigeria with a song, the song must definitely have plenty life in it. Song must be alive first actually. A dead song can't restore or revive anything. You are talking Nigeria ooo. Lol

Now listen to this.. ENERGY is one of the most important factors to how well your song is loved and received. I guess you probably never thought of this or heard it before.

Last week, one of my dearest mentees sent me a song she's recording, as I listened, I got to a part in the song and I sensed that I lost my Connection with the song. What happened, she didn't use the right ENERGY to express that part of the song, she used the same energy she started the song with and that part of the song needed a different kind of energy. Immediately I mentioned it to her, she told me she also felt it too. So now you know I wasn't speaking french lol. Actually a very good music producer will notice it immediately. 

I have been in recording session with one of Nigerians finest music producer FUSSAM and he will always stop an artiste and say, "that energy was bad". Chai I remember the day OLUBIRI was recording with future, they almost got frustrated with this energy matter as we push them to get it right.

Let me explain something to you. I sincerely hope you can understand this. In one of my previous articles, I told you that MUSIC is SOUND right? Yeah if you missed it, now you know. Music is SOUND! now sound is a form of ENERGY called SOUND ENERGY. So Everytime you read me saying energy I was actually talking about a type of sound. Everything in this world living and non living respond to Sounds. Things living and non living can be distinguished by sounds. If you hear a cat, you won't say it's a dog, if you hear a sound of plastic, you won't say it's Iron right, you can literally identify objects through sounds. Great you are following.

This whole universe you see was created with sound. I know you were told it was created with words right. Yes you are right but actually they were created with SPOKEN WORDS (Sound Energy). The words produce sounds. So then the universe as we see only recognize sounds. This is why words are the most powerful weapon on earth. Because words spoken, communicate sounds, you can communicate war sound and people will go to war, you can communicate love sound and people will fall in love. You get it?

The universe operates only at the level of sound energies. Science often refer to this as frequency or vibrations. Those who practice spiritism understand this better. The universe does not know what love is, what peace is, what fear is, what sadness is. It picks those emotion from the sound it communicates.

How does this relate to music. What you are singing as a message can only be communicated with the right sound energy. You can't be singing peace and sounding like you dying? Have you ever wondered why love songs are done on soft sounds like R&B? You can't sing love on a war sound. You are either a preacher of love or a preacher of war. You must understand how to use sound to communicate the right emotions. The accuracy of your sound determines the intensity of the Emotions of the song.
